Community matters. Local government’s crucial role in building climate resilience.

Fiona's presentation will delve into the impacts of the 2019/20 bushfires, which served as a catalyst for change. She will share insights into the response of East Gippsland Shire Council, focusing on two key areas: community recovery and climate resilience. Fiona will discuss the importance of community engagement, policy development, and risk assessment in building climate resilience at the local level.

Fiona is people-focused and has built strong relationships throughout the organisation and the East Gippsland community. Her priorities are working with the Council and the 600 people that work for the organisation to deliver the key priorities of the East Gippsland community as detailed in the Council Plan.  (slides)
