Georgie Smith

​Georgie Smith is a lifelong sustainability advocate and public servant with over 20 years experience in the sector. Georgie is determined to champion the vital work of the public sector to the widest possible audience. 

A published author and TEDx speaker, she has held senior leadership roles at the Victorian Environment Protection Authority and the Clean Energy Council. As the founder of Upsides Training, Georgie works with public sector teams across Australia to build up the mindset and delivery skills that allow them to do what they love with even greater effectiveness. 

In her opening keynote, Georgie will explore the foundational logic that establishes why local government is vital to Australia's response to climate change.
